Radon testing levels are important because radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas, is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S., even in non-smokers. Testing reveals the concentration of radon in a home or building, with levels above 4.0 pCi/L(picocuries per liter) requiring action to be taken to reduce exposure and mitigate health risks.

Action Level: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)recommends taking action to reduce radon levels if they are at or above 4.0 pCi/L. 

Consider Mitigation: Levels between 2.0 and 4.0 pCi/L should also be considered for mitigation, as there is no completely safe level of radon.
